Alqamah bin Qais reported that Abdullah bin Mas’ud would not recite behind the Imam in prayers where the recitation was audible or silent, neither in the first two units nor in the last two. However, when he prayed alone, he would recite Al-Fatihah and a surah in the first two units but would not recite anything in the last two.
