Chapter on Friday (Jumu’ah)

Zujajat al-Masabih 1783Volume 1

English

Abu Lubabah ibn Abd al-Mundhir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Friday is the master of days and the greatest in the sight of Allah. It is greater than the Day of Adha and the Day of Fitr. On it, five things occurred: Allah created Adam, sent him down to Earth, accepted his repentance, and there is an hour when no servant asks Allah for something except that He grants it (if it is not sinful), and the Hour will occur on Friday. No angel, sky, earth, wind, mountain, or sea but that it fears Friday.’" [Narrated by Ibn Majah] Ahmad narrated from Sa’d ibn Mu’adh that a man from the Ansar came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked: ‘Tell us about Friday and its virtues.’ He mentioned the same five things.
