Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: “We were traveling with the Prophet (ﷺ). Some of us were fasting, and some were not. We stopped at a place on a hot day. Those who were fasting fell down, while those who were not fasting set up the tents and watered the animals. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, ‘Today, those who broke their fast took the reward.’” 3

Note 3
(3) The statement: “Those who broke their fast took the reward.” This means they received the greater reward because breaking the fast was better for them at that time. The mention of “today” indicates that this ruling is not absolute. This is mentioned in Al-Mirqat.
Note 3
