Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever acquires a branch of astronomy beyond what Allah mentioned has acquired a branch of magic. An astrologer is a soothsayer, a soothsayer is a sorcerer, and a sorcerer is a disbeliever .
