Al-Miqdam ibn Ma’di Karib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “No human fills a vessel worse than his stomach. A few morsels that keep his back upright are enough for the son of Adam. If it must be, then a third for food, a third for drink, and a third for his breath.”
