Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) was asked, “What is the Praised Station?” He replied: “That is the Day 1 when Allah, Blessed and Exalted, descends to His Throne, which creaks as a new saddle creaks under strain, and it is as vast as the distance between the heavens and the earth. You will be brought barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised. The first to be clothed will be Ibrahim 2. Allah, Exalted is He, will say, ‘Clothe My Friend,’ and he will be brought two white garments from the veils of Paradise. Then I will be clothed after him, and I will stand at the right hand of Allah in a station that the first and the last will envy.”

(1) His statement: “That is the Day…”: If it is asked how the response aligns with the question, it is answered that the response is indicated by his saying, “Then I will stand at the right hand of Allah.” However, he first mentioned the time when the Praised Station occurs, describing it with its terrors to make it more impactful on the souls, then pointed to the answer with, “Then I will stand at the right hand of Allah.” The essence of the answer is that the Praised Station is the station where I will stand at the right hand of Allah on the Day of Resurrection. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(۱) قوله: قال ذلك يوم الخ: فإن قيل : كيف وجه المطابقة بين السؤال والجواب؟ أجيب بأن الدال على الجواب هو قوله: «ثم أقوم عن يمين الله، لكنه الله ذكر أول الوقت الذي يكون فيه المقام المحمود، ووصفه بما يكون فيه من الأهوال؛ ليكون أعظم في النفوس وقعا، ثم أشار إلى الجواب بقوله: ثم أقوم عن يمين الله». وحاصل الجواب: أن المقام المحمود هو المقام الذي أقوم فيه عن يمين الله يوم القيامة. كذا في «المرقاة».
