Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “I will come to the gate of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection and seek to open it. The gatekeeper will say, ‘Who are you?’ I will say, ‘Muhammad.’ He will say, ‘I was commanded 1 not to open it for anyone before you.’”

(1) His statement: “I was commanded”: At-Tibi said: “By you” is connected to “I was commanded,” with the preposition indicating causality, meaning I was commanded because of you not to open it for anyone else. Alternatively, it could be related to the verb, with “not to open” as a substitute for the pronoun, meaning I was commanded not to open it for anyone other than you. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(۱) قوله : بك أمرت إلخ : قال الطيبي : بك متعلق بـ «أمرت والباء للسببية قدمت للتخصيص، والمعنى بسببك أمرت أن لا أفتح لغيرك لا بشيء آخر، ويجوز أن يكون صلة للفعل وأن لا أفتح بدلا من الضمير المجرور، أي أمرت بأن لا أفتح لأحد غيرك. كذا في «المرقاة».

(42) قولہ: بک امرت الخ: علامہ طیبی نے کہا ہے کہ ”بک“ جار مجرور امرت کے متعلق ہے اور ”ب“ سَبَبِیَّت کا ہے اور جار مجرور کو تخصیص کے لئے مقدم کیا گیا اور مطلب یہ ہے کہ آپ کے سبب سے مجھے یہ حکم ملا ہے کہ میں آپ کے سوا کسی کے لئے نہ کھولوں اور یہ صرف آپ کی خاطر ہے کسی اور غرض سے نہیں۔ اور یہ بھی ہو سکتا ہے کہ ”ب “ فعل کا صلہ ہو، اور ان لا افتح بک کی ضمیر مجرور سے بدل ہو معنی یہ ہوں گے مجھے حکم ملا ہے کہ میں آپ کے سوا کسی کے لئے نہ کھولوں۔ (مرقات)۔
