Note 1

who revile my companions

(1) His statement “who revile my companions”: Perhaps the wisdom behind the Rafidah reviling some companions and the Khawarij reviling some of the Prophet’s household is that their deeds ceased with the end of their lives, and Allah intended for their reward to continue for a better outcome, while their enemies return to a severe reckoning and intense punishment. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

Note 1
