Abu Sa’id (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Ali: “O Ali, it is not permissible 1 for anyone to be in a state of janabah in this mosque except me or you.” Ali ibn al-Mundhir said: I asked Sirar ibn Surad: “What is the meaning of this Hadith?” He said: “It is not permissible for anyone to pass through it in a state of janabah except me or you.”

(1) His statement “it is not permissible for anyone to be in a state of janabah”: with a dammah on the first letter and kasrah on the nun. At-Tibi said: It appears that “to be in a state of janabah” is the subject of “it is not permissible,” and “in this mosque” is its adverbial phrase. “Except me and you” is in the accusative as an exception. His statement “it is not permissible for anyone to pass through it in a state of janabah except me and you” is because their homes’ entrances specifically opened into the mosque. At-Tibi said: The reference to “this mosque” indicates a special ruling not applicable to other mosques, as the door of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and Ali’s door opened into the mosque. This is supported by the Hadith of Ibn Abbas: “He ordered the doors closed except Ali’s door.” (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(۱) قوله : لا يحل لأحد يجنب بضم أوله وكسر نونه. قال الطيبي : ظاهره أن يجنب يكون فاعلا لقوله: «لا يحل» وقوله: في هذا المسجد ظرف لـ «يجنب». وقوله: غيري وغيرك بالنصب على الاستثناء. وقوله: «لا يحل لأحد يستطرقه جنبا غيري وغيرك؛ لأنه كان ممر دارهما خاصة في المسجد. قال الطيبي والإشارة في هذا المسجد مشعرة بأن له اختصاصا بهذا الحكم ليس لغيره من المساجد، وليس ذلك إلا لأن باب رسول الله ﷺ يفتح إلى المسجد وكذا باب علي، ويؤيده حديث ابن عباس أمر بسد الأبواب إلا باب علي. كذا في «المرقاة».

(16) قوله لا يحل لأحد يجنب . یا کو پیش اور نون کو کسرہ (زیر) علامہ طیبی نے فرمایا لا يحل کا فاعل ان يجنب ہے اور في هذا المسجد يجنب کا مفعول فیہ ہے، غيري و غيرك کو استثناء کی بناء پر زبر (نصب) اور لا يحل لأحد يستطرقه جنبا غيري وغيرك کیونکہ یہ صرف ان دونوں حضرات کے گھر کا راستہ تھا، علامہ طیبی نے فرمایا بهذا المسجد کے اشارہ سے یہ معلوم ہوتا ہے یہ حکم اس مسجد کے ساتھ خاص ہے دوسری مساجد کے لئے نہیں ہے۔ اور یہ صرف اس لئے تھا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا دروازہ اور اسی طرح سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کا دروازہ مسجد کی طرف کھلتا تھا اور حضرت ابن عباس کی حدیث سے اس بات کی تائید ہوتی ہے کہ آپ نے حضرت علی کے دروازے کے سوا تمام دروازوں کو بند کر دینے کا حکم فرمایا۔ (مرقات)
