Chapter on Delaying and Advancing Prayers

Zujajat al-Masabih 825Volume 1

English

Narrated by Ghudayfah ibn al-Harith: "I asked Aisha: 'Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform Ghusl from Janabah (major impurity) at the beginning of the night or at the end of the night?' She replied: 'He sometimes performed Ghusl at the beginning of the night, and sometimes at the end of it.' I said: 'Allah is the Greatest. Praise be to Allah, who made it spacious in the matter.' I then asked: 'Did he perform Witr at the beginning of the night or at the end?' She replied: 'He sometimes performed Witr at the beginning of the night, and sometimes at the end of it.' I said: 'Allah is the Greatest. Praise be to Allah, who made it spacious in the matter.' I then asked: 'Did he recite aloud or quietly during prayer?' She replied: 'He sometimes recited aloud, and sometimes quietly.' I said: 'Allah is the Greatest. Praise be to Allah, who made it spacious in the matter.'"
