It is narrated from Mu'awiyah ibn Qurrah, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade these two plants—onions and garlic—and said: "Whoever eats them should not come near our mosque." He also said: "If you must eat them, then cook them thoroughly."
