Commentary and footnotes (2)

Note 1

Whoever looks at his brother with a look that frightens him,

(1) Regarding the saying: "Whoever looks at his brother with a look that frightens him," etc.: This hadith is mentioned in this chapter to indicate that merely causing fear incurs punishment on the Day of Resurrection, so how much more for greater forms of oppression? It implies that whoever looks at his brother with mercy and compassion, God will look at him with care on the Day of Resurrection, as stated in al-Marqah.

A people who entrust their affairs to a woman will never succeed

(1) Regarding the saying: "A people who entrust their affairs to a woman will never succeed": It is stated in al-Durr al-Mukhtar: Appointing an imam is one of the most important obligations, so it was prioritized over burying the one with miracles. The conditions include being a Muslim, free, male, rational, mature, capable, and from Quraysh, but not Hashimi or Alawi, and infallible.
