Hadith 1883

Volume 1

English

Abu Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "My uncles from the Ansar informed me that the crescent moon was obscured from the people on the last night of Ramadan during the time of the Prophet (ﷺ). They woke up fasting, but later testified before the Prophet (ﷺ) after midday that they had seen the crescent moon the previous night. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded the people to break their fast, and they did so immediately. The next day, he took them out and led them in the Eid prayer."
