Narrated by Asim ibn Kulaib al-Jarmi, from his father—who was among the companions of Ali, may Allah be pleased with him: "Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah honor his face, used to raise his hands during the first Takbir with which he began the prayer, and he did not raise them again during the rest of the prayer." [Narrated by Muhammad, At-Tahawi, and Ibn Abi Shaybah]
The scholar Al-Ayni said: "Its chain is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim. It is not permissible for Ali to have seen the Prophet, peace be upon him, do something and then abandon it unless the raising of hands outside the opening Takbir had been abrogated."

اور علامہ عینی نے یہ بھی کہا ہے کہ تکبیر تحریمہ کے سوا باقی پوری نماز میں رفع یدین کا منسوخ ہونا حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس ثابت ہو چکا تھا جب ہی تو آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو رفع یدین کرتے ہوئے دیکھنے کے باوجود پھر بھی تکبیر تحریمہ کے سوا باقی پوری نماز میں رفع یدین ترک فرمایا اگر رفع یدین کا منسوخ ہونا حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس ثابت نہ ہوتا تو آپ خود اپنی طرف سے رفع یدین ہرگز ترک نہ کرتے۔
