Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: A man said: “O Messenger of Allah, if I am killed in the way of Allah, patient, seeking reward, advancing, not retreating, will Allah forgive my sins?” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Yes.” When he turned away, the Prophet (ﷺ) called him and said: “Yes, except for debt. That is what Jibril told me.”
