Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Whoever eats seven ajwah dates 3 in the morning will not be harmed by poison or magic that day.”

(3) The statement: “Whoever eats seven ajwah dates, etc.”: Al-Nawawi said: This shows the virtue of Madinah’s dates, especially ajwah, and eating seven in the morning. The specification of ajwah and the number seven are matters known to the Lawgiver, the wisdom of which we may not understand, like prayer units or zakat rates. We must believe in and acknowledge their virtue and wisdom, per “Al-Mirqat.”

(٣) قوله: من تصبح بسبع تمرات عجوة إلخ: قال النووي: فيه فضيلة تمر المدينة وعجوتها وفضيلة التصبح بسبع تمراتمنه، وتخصيص عجوة المدينة وعدد التسبيع من الأمور التي علمها الشارع لا نعلم نحن حكمتها، فيجب الإيمان بهاواعتقاد فضلها والحكمة فيها، وهذا كأعداد الصلاة ونصب الزكاة وغيرها. كذا في (المرقاة).
