Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I fell ill, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) visited me. He placed his hand between my chest until I felt its coolness on my heart and said: “You are a man afflicted. Go to al-Harith ibn Kaladah, 1 a brother of Thaqif, for he practices medicine. Let him take seven ajwah dates from Madinah, crush them with their pits, and administer them to you.”

Note 1
(1) The statement: “Go to al-Harith ibn Kaladah, etc.”: This indicates the permissibility of consulting non-Muslims in medicine, as al-Harith died early in Islam, and his conversion is not confirmed, per “Al-Mirqat.”
