Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Can anyone 1 walk on water without his feet getting wet?” They said: “No, O Messenger of Allah.” He said: “Likewise, the one who engages with the world does not escape sins.”
(1) His statement: “Can anyone…”: This means, can anyone walk on water in any state without getting wet? The essence is: Can walking on water occur without wetness? (As stated in Al-Mirqat.)

(۱) قوله: هل من أحد إلخ أي هل يمشي على الماء في حال من الأحوال إلا في حال الابتلال، وحاصل معناه: هل يتحقق المشي على الماء بلا ابتلال. كذا في «المرقاة».
