Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “If you see Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, granting a servant worldly things he loves despite his sins, it is only a gradual drawing in.” Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited: “So when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We opened to them the gates of everything until, when they rejoiced in what they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were in despair.” (Al-An’am: 44)
