Zujajat al-Masabih 5858Volume 5

English

Abu Rafi’, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may Allah be pleased with him), narrated: “We went out with Ali when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent him with his flag. When he approached the fortress, its people came out and fought him. A Jewish man struck him, causing his shield to fall from his hand. Ali picked up a door near the fortress and used it as a shield, holding it until Allah granted victory through him. When he finished, he dropped it from his hand. I was among seven others, making eight, and we struggled to move that door but could not.”
