Umarah ibn Umayr narrated: When the heads of Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad and his companions were brought and arranged in the mosque at the open space, I approached them. They were saying: “It has come, it has come.” Behold, a snake came, weaving through the heads until it entered the nostril of Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad, lingered briefly, then left and disappeared. They said: “It has come,” and it did this two or three times.
