Jabalat ibn Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: “O Messenger of Allah, send my brother Zayd with me.” He said: “Here he is 1.” He said: “If he goes with you, I will not prevent him.” Zayd said: “O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I would not choose anyone over you.” He said: I saw my brother’s opinion as better than my own.

Note 1

Here he is

(1) The statement “Here he is”: “He” refers to Zayd, and “this” points to him, meaning he is present and has a choice. “If he goes with you, I will not prevent him,” meaning, I have freed him. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

Note 1

قوله
