Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Verily, I have been prohibited from reciting the Qur’an while bowing or prostrating. As for bowing, glorify your Lord therein. And as for prostration, strive in supplication, for it is most likely to be answered.”

ف: اس حدیث شریف میں ارشاد ہے: ”وَأَمَّا السُّجُودُ فَاجْتَهِدُوا فِي الدُّعَاءِ“ سجدہ میں خوب دعا کیا کرو، یہاں لفظ ”الدعاء“ کے معنی دعا، حمد و ثناء کے کئے گئے ہیں اس لئے کہ دعا کی دو قسمیں ہیں ایک دعا، حمد و ثناء اور دوسری دعا، طلب سوال، دعا، حمد و ثناء یہ ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی پاکی اور شان عالی بیان کی جائے مثلاً ”سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى“ کہنا اور دعا طلب سوال یہ ہے کہ خارج نماز اپنے مقاصد اور ضرورتیں اللہ تعالیٰ سے مانگی جائیں۔ (یہ مضمون اشعۃ اللمعات سے ماخوذ ہے۔)
