‘Awn ibn ‘Abdullah reported from Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you bows and says in his Ruku’: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ (Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great) three times, then his Ruku’ is complete, and that is the minimum. And when he prostrates and says in his prostration: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High) three times, then his prostration is complete, and that is the minimum."

١٢٤٣ - وَعَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُوْدٍ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ: «إِذَا رَكَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَقَالَ فِي رُكُوْعِهِ: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَدْ تَمَّ رُكُوعُهُ، وَذَلِكَ أَدْنَاهُ. وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَقَالَ فِي سُجُودِهِ: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَدْ تَمَّ سُجُوْدَهُ، وَذَلِكَ أَدْنَاهُ». رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَابْنُ مَاجَه.

عون بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے، وہ عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے
روایت کرتے ہیں کہ ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا ہے کہ
جب تم میں سے کسی نے رکوع کیا اور اس میں سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيْمِ تین مرتبہ کہا تو اس کا رکوع پورا ہو گیا
اور یہ اس کا ادنیٰ درجہ ہے اور جب کسی نے سجدہ کیا اور سجدہ میں سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلٰى تین بار کہا تو اس کا
سجدہ پورا ہو گیا، اور یہ اس کا ادنیٰ درجہ ہے۔ (اس کی روایت ترمذی، ابوداؤد اور ابن ماجہ نے کی ہے۔)
