Abdullah al-Sunabihi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "The sun rises with the horn of Satan. When it has risen fully, it separates from it. When it reaches its zenith, it rejoins it. When it declines, it separates from it. When it approaches sunset, it rejoins it. When it sets, it separates from it." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prohibited prayer during these times.
