English

Shaddad ibn Aws and al-Sunabihi (may Allah be pleased with them) reported that they visited a sick man and asked him: "How are you feeling?" He replied: "I am feeling well by the grace of Allah." Shaddad said: "Be glad, for your sins are being expiated and your faults are being removed. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Allah, the Exalted, says: If I afflict a believing servant of Mine and he praises Me for the affliction, he will rise from his bed as sinless as the day his mother gave birth to him. The Lord, Blessed and Exalted, says: I have restrained My servant and tested him, so continue to record for him the deeds you used to record for him when he was healthy'"
