Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by the graves of Madinah and turned his face towards them, saying, 'Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of the graves. May Allah forgive us and you. You are our predecessors, and we are following in your footsteps.'" 1
