Bashir ibn al-Khasasiyya (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that they said: "The Zakat collectors transgress against us. Should we hide 2 some of our wealth equivalent to what they transgress against us?" He said: "No."

٢٢٤٠ - وَعَنْ بَشِيْرِ ابْنِ الْخَصَاصِيَّةِ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قُلْنَا: إِنَّ أَهْلَ الصَّدَقَةِ يَعْتَدُوْنَ عَلَيْنَا، أَفَنَكْتُمُ2 مِنْ أَمْوَالِنَا بِقَدْرِ مَا يَعْتَدُوْنَ عَلَيْنَا؟ قَالَ: لَا. رَوَاهُ أَبُوْ دَاوُدَ.

بشیر بن خصاصیہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے وہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم نے
(رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے (جیسا کہ اشعۃ اللمعات میں مذکور ہے۔12) عرض کیا کہ
زکات وصول کرنے والے ہم پر زیادتی کرتے ہیں تو کیا ہم ان سے اتنا مال چھپائے رکھیں جتنا کہ وہ
ہم سے زیادہ لیتے ہیں۔ حضور علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام نے فرمایا کہ نہیں ایسا نہ کیا کرو (بلکہ جس قدر وہ
طلب کریں ادا کر دیا کرو، اگر وہ زائد لیں گے تو خود ذمہ دار ہوں گے)۔
اس کی روایت ابوداؤد نے کی ہے۔

(2) The statement: "Should we hide." In Al-Ashbah wa al-Naza'ir, in the section on riddles with Al-Hamawi: "Which man is it recommended for to hide it?" Say: "The one who fears the oppressors, so they do not know the extent of his wealth, meaning they take it and give it to those who are not entitled to it. Concealment is better." Ibn Wahban mentioned it in his explanation of his poem but did not attribute it to any of our scholars.

(۲) قوله: أفنكتم: وفي الأشباه والنظائر في فن الألغاز مع الحموي : أي رجل يستحب له إخفائها؟ فقل: الخائف من الظلمة؛ لئلا يعلموا كثرة ماله، يعني فيأخذونها ، فيضعونها في غير أهلها، فالستر أفضل. ذكرها ابن وهبان في شرحه لمنظومته، ولم يعزها إلى أحد من أئمتنا.
