Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The best dinar a man spends is the dinar he spends on his family, the dinar he spends on his riding animal in the way of Allah, and the dinar he spends on his companions in the way of Allah."

٢٣٩٥ - وَعَنْ ثَوْبَانَ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ: «أَفْضَلُ دِينَارٍ يُنْفِقُهُ الرَّجُلُ دِينَارُ يُنْفِقُهُ عَلَى عَيَالِهِ، وَدِيْنَارُ يُنْفِقُهُ عَلَى دَابَّتِهِ فِي سَبِيْلِ اللهِ، وَدِيْنَارُ يُنْفِقُهُ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ». رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.

ثوبان رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے وہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ
وسلم ارشاد فرماتے ہیں کہ بہترین دینار (یعنی رقم) وہ دینار ہے جس کو آدمی اپنے اہل و عیال پر خرچ
کرے اور وہ دینار (بھی بہترین) ہے جس کو آدمی اپنی جہاد کی سواری پر خرچ کرے، اور (اسی
طرح) وہ دینار (بھی بہترین) ہے جس کو آدمی اپنے جہاد کرنے والے ساتھیوں پر خرچ کرے۔
اس کی روایت مسلم نے کی ہے۔
