Abdullah ibn Khubayb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "We went out on a rainy and extremely dark night looking for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to lead us in prayer. When we found him, he asked: 'Have you prayed?' I didn't answer. He said: 'Say...' but I remained silent. After repeating this three times, I asked what to say. He said: 'Recite "Say: He is Allah, the One" and the two refuge-seeking surahs (al-Falaq and an-Nas) three times each morning and evening - they will suffice you against everything.'"

٢٦٣٨ - وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا فِي لَيْلَةِ مَطَرٍ وَظُلْمَةٍ شَدِيدَةٍ نَطْلُبُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اليُصَلِّي لَنَا فَأَدْرَكْنَاهُ، فَقَالَ: «أَصَلَّيْتُمْ؟» فَلَمْ أَقُلْ شَيْئًا، فَقَالَ: «قُلْ»، فَلَمْ أَقُلْ شَيْئًا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «قُلْ»، فَلَمْ أَقُلْ شَيْئًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «قُلْ»، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَقُولُ؟ قَالَ: «قُلْ: ﴿قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ﴾ وَالْمُعَوَّذَتَيْنِ حِينَ تُمْسِي وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ تَكْفِيكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ». رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ.

عبداللہ بن حُبیب رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے وہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم ایک رات
بارش اور سخت تاریکی میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو تلاش کرنے نکلے اور ہم نے حضور کو راستہ میں
پا لیا ہم کو دیکھ کر حضور نے فرمایا: پڑھو میں نے عرض کیا: (یا رسول اللہ) کیا پڑھوں تو آپ ارشاد فرمایا
سورہ قُلْ هُوَ اللّٰهُ أَحَدٌ، سورہ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ اور سورہ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ“ کو
صبح اور شام تین تین دفعہ پڑھ لیا کرو تو یہ (وظیفہ) تم کو ہر چیز کے (شر سے) محفوظ و بچائے رکھے گا۔
اس کی روایت ترمذی ابوداؤد اور نسائی نے کی ہے۔
