English

Al-Miqdam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: I am closer to every believer than their own self. Whoever leaves a debt or dependents, they are my responsibility. Whoever leaves wealth, it is for their heirs. I am the patron of those without a patron; I inherit their wealth and settle their liabilities. The maternal uncle is the patron of those without a patron, inheriting their wealth and settling their liabilities. In another narration: I am the heir of one who has no heir; I pay their blood money and inherit them. The maternal uncle is the heir of one who has no heir; he pays their blood money and inherits them.
