Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say in Wadi Al-Aqiq: "A messenger from my Lord came to me tonight and said: 'Pray in this blessed valley and say: Umrah in Hajj.'" In another version: "Umrah and Hajj."

Note 1

Say: Umrah in Hajj

(1) The statement: "Say: Umrah in Hajj": Its correct meaning is that the reward for praying there equals performing an Umrah within Hajj. This indicates that performing Umrah combined with Hajj (when both share one journey) is better than performing Umrah alone. Since this valley is near Madinah, it shares in Madinah's virtues. As in Al-Mirqat.
