Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When you travel in fertile land, give the camels their share of the earth. When you travel in barren land, hasten their pace. And when you camp at night, avoid the path, for it is the way of animals and the abode of creatures at night." In another narration: "Or when you travel in barren land, hasten to preserve their strength."
