Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Do not wear silk or brocade, 1 and do not drink or eat from gold or silver vessels or their plates, for they are for them in this world and for us in the Hereafter.”

٤١٦٣ - وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صلي الله عليه واله وسلم يَقُوْلُ: (لَا تَلْبَسُوا1 الْحَرِيرَوَلَا الدِّيبَاجَ، وَلَا تَشْرَبُوا فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ، وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا فِي صِحَافِهَا؛ فَإِنَّهَا لَهُمْ فِيالدُّنْيَا وَلَنَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ). مُتَّفَقُّ عَلَيْهِ.

کے برتنوں میں مت پیو اور اس کی رکابیوں میں مت کھاؤ کیونکہ یہ ان کے لئے دنیا میں ہیں اور وہ
تمہارے لئے آخرت میں ہیں۔ (متفق علیہ)۔

(1) The statement: “Do not wear silk or brocade”: “Al-Mirqat” states: An exception is made for silk up to four fingers’ width at the garment’s edges, as is customary. If the weft is non-silk and the warp is silk, it is permissible; the reverse is not, except in war due to irritation or lice, per “Al-Hidayah.”
