Zujajat al-Masabih 4470Volume 4

English

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “A Muslim has six rights over another Muslim, to be fulfilled with kindness: to greet him with salaam when meeting him, to respond when he invites, to say ‘May Allah have mercy on you’ when he sneezes, to visit him when he is sick, to follow 1 his funeral procession when he dies, and to love for him what he loves for himself.”

Note 1

to follow his funeral procession

(1) His statement: “to follow his funeral procession” indicates that it is preferable to walk behind the funeral procession, as is the chosen opinion in our Hanafi school. As stated in Al-Mirqat.

Note 1

قوله

(۱) قوله: يتبع جنازته: وفيه إشارة إلى أن الأفضل هو المشي خلف الجنازة، كما هو المختار من مذهبنا الحنفية. كذا في «المرقاة».
