Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed 1 by some boys and greeted them with peace.”

(1) His statement: “passed by some boys and greeted them”: Scholars differed on greeting children. Some, like Al-Hasan, said not to greet them. Others, like Shurayh, said it is better to greet them.
