Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Satirize the Quraysh 1, for it is harder on them than a shower of arrows.”

٤٦٠٨ - وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ (رضي الله عنها) أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «اهْجُوا1 قُرَيْشًا فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَشْقِ النَّبْلِ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.

نے فرمایا: تم کفار قریش کی ہجو 2 کرو! کیونکہ وہ (شعر کے ذریعہ ہجو کرنا) ان پر تیر چلانے سے زیادہ
سخت ہے۔ (مسلم)۔

(1) His statement: Satirize the Quraysh, etc. An-Nawawi said: It is permissible to satirize disbelievers and harm them unless they have a covenant of safety, as Allah, the Exalted, has commanded jihad against them and harshness toward them to highlight their deficiencies and counter their satire of Muslims. However, initiating it is not permissible, as He said: And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge [Al-An‘am: 108]. As stated in Al-Mirqat.

(۱) قوله: اهجرا قريشا إلخ قال النووي: فيه جواز هجو الكفار وأذاهم ما لم يكن لهم أمان؛ لأن الله تعالى قد أمر بالجهاد فيهم والإغلاظ عليهم؛ لأن في الإغلاظ بيانا لنقصهم والانتصار منهم لهجائهم المسلمين، ولا يجوز ابتداء؛ لقوله تعالى: ﴿وَلَا تَسُبُّواْ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ فَيَسُبُوا اللهَ عَدْوًا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ (الأنعام: ۱۰۸). كذا في المرقاة».
