Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Part of glorifying Allah is honoring the grey-haired Muslim, the bearer of the Qur’an who neither exaggerates in it nor turns away from it, and honoring the just ruler.”

٤٧٥٨ - وَعَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ مِنْ إِجْلَالِ اللَّهِ إِكْرَامَ ذِي الشَّيْبَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ، وَحَامِلِ الْقُرْآنِ غَيْرِ الْغَالِي فِيهِ وَالْجَافِي عَنْهُ، وَإِكْرَامَ ذِي السُّلْطَانِ الْمُقْسِطِ». رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي شُعَبِ الْإِيْمَانِ».

صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اللہ کی تعظیم میں سے ہے بوڑھے مسلمان کی عزت کرنا اور
حامل قرآن کی عزت کرنا جو اس میں غلو نہیں کرتا، اور اس سے دور نہیں رہتا اور انصاف کرنے
والے بادشاہ کی عزت کرنا۔ (ابوداؤد، بیہقی: شعب الایمان)۔
