Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: A man said: “O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour?” He said: “Woe to you, what have you prepared for it?” He said: “I have prepared nothing for it except that I love Allah and His Messenger.” He said: “You 1 are with whom you love.” Anas said: “I never saw Muslims rejoice over anything after Islam like they rejoiced over this.”

Note 1

You are with whom you love

(1) His statement: “You are with whom you love”: Here, companionship is special, involving meeting between lover and beloved, not same rank—self-evident invalidity. The meeting’s manner: higher descend to lower, gathering in gardens, recalling Allah’s blessings, praising Him; higher ranks’ people serve them with desires and calls. They are in a garden delighting and enjoying. This companionship, meeting, and fellowship differs with treatment’s goodness. [As stated in Al-Mirqat]
