Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The first righteousness of this Ummah is certainty 1 and asceticism, and the first corruption of it is stinginess and aspiration."

٥٠٥٥ - وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ (رضي الله عنه)، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: «أَوَّلُ صَلَاحِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ الْيَقِينُ1 وَالزُّهْدُ، وَأَوَّلُ فَسَادِهَا الْبُخْلُ وَالْأَمَلُ». رَوَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي شُعَبِ الْإِيْمَانِ».

سیدنا عمرو بن شعیب اپنے والد سے وہ اُن کے دادا سے روایت کرتے
ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: اس امت کی پہلی درستی یقین 1 اور زہد ہے اور اس کا پہلا بگاڑ بخل
اور اُمید ہے۔ (بیہقی شعب الایمان)۔
