Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: By Allah, I do not know whether my companions forgot or pretended to forget, but by Allah, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not leave out any leader 1 of a trial until the end of the world, whose followers would reach three hundred or more, except that he named him for us by his name, his father’s name, and his tribe’s name.

٥١٥٨ - وَعَنْهُ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: وَاللهِ مَا أَدْرِي أَنَسِيَ أَصْحَابِي أَمْ تَنَاسَوْا وَاللَّهِ مَا تَرَكَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ مِنْ قَائِدِ1 فِتْنَةٍ إِلَى أَنْ تَنْقَضِيَ الدُّنْيَا يَبْلُغُ مَنْ مَعَهُ ثَلَاثَ مِائَةٍ فَصَاعِدًا إِلَّا قَدْ سَمَّاهُ لَنَا بِاسْمِهِ وَاسْمِ أَبِيهِ وَاسْمِ قَبِيلَتِهِ». رَوَاهُ أَبُوْ دَاوُدَ.
