٥٥٣٩ - وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ(رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «أَنَا1 أَكْثَرُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ تَبَعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ يَقْرَعُ بَابَ الْجَنَّةِ». رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.

(1) His statement: “I will have the most followers among the prophets on the Day of Resurrection”: This is because his nation constitutes two-thirds of the inhabitants of Paradise, as mentioned in a previous Hadith. It implies that the greater number of followers indicates the superiority of the one followed, just as Imam Asim among the Qur’an reciters and Abu Hanifah, who has a great share in this, as most Muslims follow him in the branches of jurisprudence. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(۱) قوله: أنا أكثر الأنبياء تبعا يوم القيامة لأن أمته ثلثا أهل الجنة على ما سبق في الحديث. وفيه إشعار بأن أكثرية الأتباع توجب أفضلية المتبوع، وكذلك الإمام عاصم من بين القراء، فأبو حنيفة ، له حظ عظيم ونصيب جسيم من ذلك، فإن غالب أهل الإسلام من أتباعه في فروع الأحكام. كذا في «المرقاة».

(41) قوله أنا اكثر الانبياء تبعا يوم القيامة. آپ کی امت جیسا کہ سابق میں گزر چکا ہے اہل جنت کی دو تہائی ہوگی۔ اور اس سے یہ بات بھی معلوم ہوتی ہے کہ جن کے متبعین زیادہ ہوں گے ان کو زیادہ فضیلت حاصل رہے گی، متبعین کی زیادتی متبوع کی افضلیت کو بتاتی ہے، اسی طرح تمام فقہاء و علماء کے درمیان امام اعظم ہیں۔ آپ کو اس کا بڑا حصہ حاصل ہے کیونکہ مسلمانوں کی غالب اکثریت فروعی احکام میں آپ کی اتباع کرنے والے ہیں۔(مرقات)۔
