Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Hasan resembled 1 the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) from the chest to the head, and Husayn resembled the Prophet (ﷺ) in what was below that.

٥٩٢٦ - وَعَنْ عَلَيٍّ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: الْحَسَنُ أَشْبَهُ 1 رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا بَيْنَ الصَّدْرِ إِلَى الرَّأْسِ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ أَشْبَهُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَا كَانَ أَسْفَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ. رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ.

کے حصہ تک رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مشابہ ہیں(31)۔ اور حضرت حسین اس کے نیچے کے حصہ
سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مشابہ ہیں۔(ترمذی)

(1) The statement “resembled”: A past tense verb. The statement “from the chest to the head”: At-Tibi said: This is a substitute for the implied subject of “resembled” or a partial substitute for the object. Likewise, the subsequent statement “in what was below that.” (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(۱) قوله: أشبه فعل ماض. وقوله: «ما بين الصدر إلى الرأس قال الطيبي : بدل من الفاعل المضمر في «أشبه» أو من المفعول بدل البعض، وكذا قوله: الآتي ما كان أسفل. كذا في «المرقاة».

(31) قوله: اشبه. اشبہ. فعل ماضی ہے وقوله: ما بين الصدر الى الراس. علامہ طیبی نے فرمایا یہ ”اشبه“ میں ضمیر فاعل سے بدل ہے یا اس کے مفعول سے بدل البعض ہے اس کے بعد والے قول ”ما كان اسفل“ کی ترکیب بھی اسی طرح کی ہے۔(مرقات)
