Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The green canopy has not shaded, nor the dusty earth borne, anyone with a truer tongue 1 or more faithful than Abu Dharr, resembling Isa ibn Maryam (Mary)am in asceticism.”

٥٩٨٧ - عَنْ أَبِي ذَرِّ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «مَا أَظَلَّتِ الْخَضْرَاءُ وَلَا أَقَلَّتِ الْغَبْرَاءُ مِنْ ذِي1 لَهْجَةٍ وَلَا أَوْفَى مِنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، شَبِيْهُ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ يَعْنِي فِي الزُّهْدِ. رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ.

حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم
نے فرمایا: آسمان کسی ایسے شخص پر سایہ نہیں کیا اور نہ زمین کسی ایسے شخص کو اٹھائی جو ابوذر سے بڑھ کر
زبان کا سچا اور وفا شعار ہو، عیسی بن مریم کے مشابہ ہیں؛(33) یعنی زہد میں۔ (ترمذی)

(1) The statement “with a truer tongue”: Meaning one who speaks, with “from” being additional and “with a truer tongue” the object of “borne.” The statement “more faithful”: Meaning in his promises and covenants. The statement “resembling Isa ibn Maryam (Mary)am”: In apposition, meaning his likeness in asceticism. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(۱) قوله: ذي لهجة بفتح فسكون، وهي اللسان، والمعنى من ذي نطق قال الطيبي: «من زائدة و «ذي لهجة» مفعول أقلت». وقوله: «ولا أوفى أي بكلامه من الوعد والعهد. وقوله: شبيه عيسى بن مريم بالجر بدل، أي شبيهه. كذا في «المرقاة».

(33) قوله: ذى لهجة. لام کو زبر (فتحہ) ہا کو جزم بمعنی زبان ہے اس سے مراد ذی نطق (بولنے والا) ہے، علامہ طیبی نے فرمایا: اس میں لفظ ”من“ زائد ہے اور ”ذی لہجہ“ اقلت کا مفعول ہے۔ وقوله: ولا اوفى. یعنی عہد وعدہ کی اپنی گفتگو کو پورا کرنے میں۔ وقوله: شبيه عيسى بن مريم. حالت جری میں ہے بدل ہے۔ یعنی عیسی بن مریم کے مشابہ۔ (مرقات)
