A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I had an affair with a woman at the outskirts of Madinah, and I touched her, but did not have full intercourse. I am here, so judge me as you wish." Umar then said: "Allah has concealed you, if only you had concealed yourself." The Prophet ﷺ did not reply to him, and the man left. Then the Prophet ﷺ sent someone after him, called him back, and recited this verse: "And establish the prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds. That is a reminder for those who remember." (11:114). A man from the crowd then asked: "Is this for him specifically?" The Prophet ﷺ replied: "No, it is for all people."
