Narrated by Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Everything happens by predestination, even weakness and intelligence."
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Adam and Musa (Moses) argued with each other in the presence of their Lord. Adam defeated Musa in the argument. Musa said: 'O Adam, you are the one whom Allah created with His own hands, breathed His spirit into, and made the angels prostrate to you, and placed you in His paradise, and then you caused mankind to fall into sin and were sent down to the earth?' Adam replied: 'O Musa, you are the one whom Allah chose with His message and spoke to, and gave you the Torah, in which is a clear explanation of everything, and He brought you close to Him as a confidant. How long did you find it written that the Torah was given before I was created?' Musa said: 'Forty years.' Adam asked: 'Did you find in it that "Adam disobeyed his Lord and went astray" (Taha: 121)?' Musa replied: 'Yes.' Adam said: 'So, do you blame me for doing something that Allah had written for me to do forty years before He created me?' Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'So Adam defeated Musa in the argument.'"
Narrated by Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): who is the truthful and the believed: said: "The creation of each one of you is gathered in his mother's womb for forty days as a sperm, then it becomes a clot for a similar period, then it becomes a lump of flesh for a similar period. Then Allah sends an angel to it with four words: to write down its deeds, its lifespan, its provision, and whether it will be miserable or happy. Then the soul is breathed into it. By Him, besides whom there is no deity, one of you may do the deeds of the people of Paradise until there is only an arm's length between him and it, but the decree overtakes him, and he acts in the way of the people of Hell and enters it. And one of you may do the deeds of the people of Hell until there is only an arm's length between him and it, but the decree overtakes him, and he acts in the way of the people of Paradise and enters it."
Narrated by Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A servant may do the deeds of the people of Hell, and yet he is from the people of Paradise. He may do the deeds of the people of Paradise, and yet he is from the people of Hell. Indeed, actions are judged by their endings."
Narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was invited to the funeral of a child from the Ansar. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, glad tidings! This is a bird from the birds of Paradise, who did no evil and never reached maturity." He said: "Is it anything other than that, O Aisha? Indeed, Allah created the people of Paradise for Paradise, and He created them for it while they were in the loins of their fathers. And He created the people of Hell for Hell, and He created them for it while they were in the loins of their fathers."
Narrated by Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There is none of you except that his place in the Fire and his place in Paradise has been written." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah, then should we not rely on our fate and abandon action?" He replied, "Do deeds, for each one is facilitated for that for which he was created. As for the one who is among the people of happiness, he will be facilitated to do the deeds of happiness, and as for the one who is among the people of misery, he will be facilitated to do the deeds of misery." Then he recited: {As for him who gives and fears Allah and believes in the best reward} [Al-Lail: 5-6].
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah has decreed for the son of Adam his share of zina (adultery), and he will inevitably attain it. The zina of the eye is the gaze, the zina of the tongue is speech, the soul desires and covets, and the private part confirms it or denies it." [Agreed upon] In a narration by Muslim, he said: "Allah has decreed for the son of Adam his share of zina which he will inevitably attain. The zina of the eyes is the gaze, the zina of the ears is listening, the zina of the tongue is speech, the zina of the hands is grasping, the zina of the feet is walking, the heart desires and covets, and the private part either confirms or denies it."
Narrated by Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them): Two men from Muzayna asked: "O Messenger of Allah, do you see what the people do today and how they strive in their actions? Is it something already decreed upon them, or is it what they will do in the future, guided by what their Prophet has brought them and the proof being established upon them?" He replied: "No, it is something already decreed upon them and carried out. The confirmation of this is in the Book of Allah, the Almighty: {And by the soul and the One who balanced it and inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness} [Ash-Shams: 7-8]."
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a young man, and I fear for myself the trials (fitnah), and I cannot find the means to marry women." It seemed as though he was seeking permission to practice celibacy. The Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent, then I repeated the same request, and again he remained silent. I repeated it a third time, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) then said: "O Abu Huraira, the pen has dried regarding what you are going to face, so either marry or refrain from it."
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The hearts of the children of Adam are all between two fingers of the Most Merciful, and He turns them as He wills." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "O Allah, the Turner of hearts, turn our hearts towards Your obedience."
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There is no child born except that he is born upon the fitrah (natural disposition), and his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian, just as cattle give birth to a full-grown offspring. Do you see any of them mutilated?" Then he recited: {This is the nature of Allah upon which He has created mankind; there is no changing the creation of Allah. That is the straight religion} [Ar-Rum: 30].
Narrated by Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood among us and said five words: "Indeed, Allah does not sleep, and it is not befitting for Him to sleep. He lowers the scale and raises it. The deeds of the night are raised to Him before the deeds of the day, and the deeds of the day are raised to Him before the deeds of the night. His veil is light. If He were to remove it, the rays of His face would burn everything that His sight reached of His creation."
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The Hand of Allah is full; it is not diminished by the expenditure of the generous night and day. Do you not see what He has spent since He created the heavens and the earth? Yet what is in His Hand has not decreased. His Throne is upon the water, and in His Hand is the scale. He lowers and raises it." [Agreed upon]
And in a narration by Muslim: "The right hand of Allah is full."
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked about the offspring of the polytheists. He said: "Allah knows best what they used to do."
Narrated by Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The first thing that Allah created was the Pen. He said to it: 'Write.' The Pen asked: 'What should I write?' He replied: 'Write the decree.' So, it wrote what was and what will be until the end of time."
Narrated by Muslim ibn Yasaar: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the verse: "And when your Lord took from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their descendants..." (Al-A'raf 7:172). Umar said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) being asked about it. He said: 'Indeed, Allah created Adam, then He wiped his back with His right hand and extracted from him his descendants. He said: I have created these for Paradise, and they will act according to the deeds of the people of Paradise. Then He wiped his back again and extracted from him his descendants. He said: I have created these for Hell, and they will act according to the deeds of the people of Hell.'" A man asked: "Then what about the deeds, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) replied: "When Allah creates a servant for Paradise, He directs him to the deeds of the people of Paradise, so that he dies while performing the deeds of the people of Paradise, and He will admit him into Paradise through them. And when Allah creates a servant for Hell, He directs him to the deeds of the people of Hell, so that he dies while performing the deeds of the people of Hell, and He will admit him into Hell through them."
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with them): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out with two books in his hands. He said: "Do you know what these two books are?" We replied: "No, O Messenger of Allah, except that you inform us." He said to the one in his right hand: "This is a book from the Lord of the Worlds, containing the names of the people of Paradise and the names of their fathers and their tribes. It has been sealed at the end of the list, and no one can be added or removed from it." Then he said to the one in his left hand: "This is a book from the Lord of the Worlds, containing the names of the people of Hell and the names of their fathers and their tribes. It has been sealed at the end of the list, and no one can be added or removed from it."
Narrated by Abu Khuzamah, from his father (may Allah be pleased with him): I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about the ruqyah (incantations) we use to seek healing, the medicines we use, and the precautions we take—do they prevent any of Allah's decree?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: "They are part of Allah's decree." [Narrated by Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah)
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out to us while we were disputing about the matter of Qadr (divine predestination). He became angry until his face turned red, as if pomegranate seeds had been crushed in his cheeks. He said: "Was this what you were commanded to do, or was this the message I was sent to you with? Indeed, those who came before you were destroyed when they disputed over this matter. I command you, I command you not to dispute over it."
Narrated by Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah created Adam from a handful He took from all of the earth. Therefore, the children of Adam came according to the earth: some are red, some white, some black, and some are between that. Some are easy-going, some are harsh, and some are good, and some are bad." [Narrated by Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and Abu Dawood)
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah created His creation in darkness, then cast His light upon them. Whoever among them was touched by that light was guided, and whoever missed it went astray. That is why I say: 'The pen has dried according to the knowledge of Allah.'"
Narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to frequently say: "O Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion." I said: "O Prophet of Allah, we have believed in you and in what you have brought. Do you still fear for us?" He replied: "Yes, indeed, the hearts are between two fingers of Allah's fingers, He turns them as He wills."
Narrated by Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The example of the heart is like a feather on a barren land, which the winds turn over, from front to back."
Narrated by Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A servant does not believe until he believes in four things: he bears witness that there is no god but Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah, who was sent with the truth, and he believes in death, in resurrection after death, and in predestination."
Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Two groups from my Ummah have no share in Islam: the Murji'ah and the Qadariyyah."

Narrated by Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "In my Ummah, there will be earthquakes and transformations, and that will be among those who deny the predestination."
Narrated by Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The Qadariyyah are the Magians of this Ummah. If they fall ill, do not visit them, and if they die, do not attend their funeral."

Narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Six people I have cursed, and Allah has cursed them, and every Prophet has prayed against them: the one who adds to the Book of Allah, the one who denies Allah's predestination, the one who rules with arrogance to honor those whom Allah has humiliated and humiliate those whom Allah has honored, the one who makes lawful what Allah has made unlawful, the one who makes unlawful what Allah has made lawful from my family, and the one who abandons my Sunnah."
