Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "I stayed overnight at the house of my aunt, Maymunah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood up to pray, so I stood on his left side. He took me by the hand from behind his back and moved me to his right side."

Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) commanded us that if we were three (in prayer), one of us should stand in front."
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood up to pray, so I came and stood on his left side. He took me by the hand and moved me to his right side. Then Jabbar ibn Sakhr came and stood on the left side of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He took both of us by the hands and moved us until he placed us behind him."
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed with me and my mother or my aunt. He placed me on his right side and the woman behind us."

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "My grandmother, Mulaykah, invited the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) for a meal she had prepared. He ate from it and then said: 'Stand up, and I will lead you in prayer.' Anas said: 'I stood up to a mat of ours that had turned black from long use, and I sprinkled it with water. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood on it, and I and the orphan stood behind him, while the old woman stood behind us. He led us in two Rak'ahs, then left.'"

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "He, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), his mother, and his aunt prayed together. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) placed Anas on his right side and his mother and aunt behind them." [Narrated by Al-Nasa’i]
From these narrations, it is understood that if women pray with men, it is permissible, but they should stand in the last rows. This was stated by Al-Allamah Al-Ayni.

Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "Shall I not tell you about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? He established the prayer, arranged the men in rows, and placed the boys behind them. Then he led them in prayer and described his prayer. Then he said: 'This is how the prayer of—' (Abdul-A'la said: I think he said) '—my Ummah is.'"
Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "He said: 'O group of Ash'aris, gather together and bring your women and children so that I may show you the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).' They gathered and brought their children and women. He performed ablution and showed them how to perform it. Then he stepped forward, arranged the men in the front row, placed the children behind them, and the women behind the children." [Narrated by Ahmad in his Musnad]
In the narration of Al-Harith ibn Abi Umamah from him: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) would arrange them in prayer, placing the men in front of the boys, the boys behind them, and the women behind the boys."
Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would touch our shoulders in prayer and say: 'Straighten your rows and do not differ, lest your hearts differ. Let those of understanding and maturity stand closest to me, then those next to them, then those next to them.' Abu Mas'ud said: 'Today, you differ even more.'"
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Let those of understanding and maturity stand closest to me, then those next to them, then those next to them (three times). And beware of the commotion of the markets."
Qays ibn 'Ibad reported: "While I was in the mosque in the front row, a man pulled me forcefully from behind and took my place. By Allah, I could not concentrate on my prayer. When the prayer ended, I saw that it was Ubayy ibn Ka'b. He said: 'O young man, may Allah not harm you. This is the instruction the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave us—to stand close to him.' Then he faced the Qiblah and said: 'The people of knots are ruined, by the Lord of the Ka'bah!' three times. Then he said: 'By Allah, I do not grieve for them, but I grieve for those they have misled.' I said: 'O Abu Ya'qub, who are the people of knots?' He said: 'The rulers.'"
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The best rows for men are the first rows, and the worst are the last. The best rows for women are the last rows, and the worst are the first."
Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the first row." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, and upon the second?" He said, "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the first row." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, and upon the second?" He said, "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the first row." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, and upon the second?" He said, "And upon the second." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) also said: "Straighten your rows, align your shoulders, be gentle with your brothers, and fill the gaps, for indeed Satan enters through the gaps like small lambs."
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the right side of the rows." [Narrated by Abu Dawud)

Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was bowing, so he bowed before reaching the row, then walked to the row. He mentioned this to the Prophet (ﷺ), who said: "May Allah increase you in eagerness, but do not repeat it."
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "When one of you comes to the prayer, let him not bow until he takes his place in the row."
Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he led the people in prayer in Al-Mada'in, standing on a platform while the people were below him. Hudhaifah came forward, took him by the hand, and Ammar followed him until Hudhaifah brought him down. When Ammar finished his prayer, Hudhaifah said to him, "Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'When a man leads the people in prayer, let him not stand in a place higher than their place or something similar?'" Ammar said, "That is why I followed you when you took me by the hand."
Sahl ibn Sa'd Al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he was asked about what the pulpit was made of. He said, "It was made from the wood of the forest, crafted by so-and-so, the freed slave of so-and-so, for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). When it was made and placed, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood on it, faced the Qiblah, and said Takbir. The people stood behind him, and he recited, bowed, and the people bowed behind him. Then he raised his head, stepped back, and prostrated on the ground. Then he returned to the pulpit, recited, bowed, raised his head, stepped back, and prostrated on the ground. This is the wording of Bukhari. In the agreed-upon version, it is similar, and at the end, it says: When he finished, he turned to the people and said, 'O people, I only did this so that you may follow me and learn my prayer.'"

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed in his chamber, and the people followed him from behind the chamber. [Narrated by Abu Dawud]
In Al-Mirqah: The chamber referred to is, as they said, the place he took for himself in the mosque made of palm leaves when he intended to seclude himself, not Aisha's chamber, otherwise she would have said, "my chamber."

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) had a mat that he would spread during the day and use as a partition at night. Some people followed him and prayed behind him.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray at night in his chamber, and the wall of the chamber was short. People saw the figure of the Prophet (ﷺ), so some of them stood up and prayed following his prayer. [Narrated by Bukhari]
In Ad-Durr Al-Mukhtar: "A barrier does not prevent following the Imam in prayer as long as the Imam's condition is not ambiguous, and the place is not different."
