Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "None of you should intentionally pray at sunrise or sunset." In another narration, he said, "When the edge of the sun rises, refrain from prayer until it has fully risen. When the edge of the sun sets, refrain from prayer until it has fully set. Do not time your prayers with the rising or setting of the sun, for it rises between the horns of Satan."
