Zujajat al-Masabih 1844Volume 1

English

Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: When the Prophet ﷺ would ascend the pulpit, we would face him with our faces. [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi] In Al-Mabsut, it is stated: It is recommended for the congregation to face the Imam when he is delivering the sermon. Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him) used to turn his face toward the Imam after the muezzin finished the adhan.
