Chapter on Those for Whom Asking is Not Permissible and Those for Whom It Is

Zujajat al-Masabih 2304Volume 1

English

Hubshi ibn Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Asking is not permissible for the wealthy or the strong and healthy, except for one in severe poverty or overwhelming debt. Whoever asks people to increase his wealth will have his face scratched on the Day of Resurrection and will eat burning embers from Hell. Whoever wishes, let him take less, and whoever wishes, let him take more.”
